Thursday, September 11

12:25 a.m. High Street — Domestic — A female caller advised that two subjects living in the same apartment building were fighting, stating it sounded like a physical brawl.
    Action — Subjects were separated for the night. 2:45 a.m. Jacobs Avenue — Criminal Trespass — Female caller claimed to have let a female subject stay with her for the evening and they had since gotten into an argument. Caller had taken all of the subjects  belongings and put them outside; did not want her to return to the residence.
    Action — Officers remained until subject retrieved her items.
10:32 a.m. Bennett Drive — Forgery — A representative from a local bank reported receiving two check cashed by a male subject on Aug. 30, that were returned as being forged. Checks were from a company in New Hampshire that does not exist. Caller stated the bank the checks were written on said the routing number was good but the account didn’t exist. Checks were for $606.25 and $350.25 totaling $956.50. On  September 12,  police received three more checks from the same local bank for a final total of $3,101.50. A call from another local business reported a bad check had been cashed for $465.  
    Action — A female reported having some checks stolen and written to the local business, she paid for checks totaling $46.60 plus $105 return fees. Total of $3,718.10 left unpaid. Officers investigated and located a male subject who was charged with forgery and theft.
3:08 p.m. Coolidge Avenue — Disorderly Conduct — A male caller reported there was some kind of disturbance going on at an address on Coolidge Avenue, he could hear a lot of hollering.
    Action — Officer arrested a female subject for domestic assault.
4:45  p.m. Route 1 — Check on Well-Being — A male caller reported seeing a 10-11-year-old who was crying and walking without shoes on Route 1, heading south. Caller advised he had stopped and asked if everything was fine and said the juvenile kept walking.
    Action — Officer located subject who said he had gotten into a fight with his brother and decided to walk home from South Main Street.
5:28 p.m. Sincock Street — Disorderly Conduct — A female came to the police station reporting her son had been walking down by the trestle when a male subject had taken his shoes , threw them into the water and chased him through the woods. Her son had to walk through the water to retrieve his shoes.
    Action: Police spoke with subject and issued a warning. Officer will also speak to boy’s mother again.

Friday, September 12

12:18 a.m. Washburn Street — Check on Well-Being — Caller advised police of an individual lying on the sidewalk across from Spring Street.
    Action — Officer located a very intoxicated male who said he could not make it home. Subject was transported to his residence.
12:53 a.m. Center Street — Disorderly Conduct — Caller from a local business advised he had asked a female subject to leave and she had refused.
    Action — Female subject’s boyfriend worked at the business and she was there making a scene. Subject was convinced it would be in her best interest to leave, which she did.
8:30 p.m. Collins Street — Disorderly Conduct — Caller advised police of a female subject in a nearby apartment had her music so loud it was vibrating her couch.
    Action — Police spoke with subject advising her to keep her music at a more moderate level.
10:30 p.m. Dow Siding — Phone Harassment — Female caller reporting receiving harassing text messages and phone calls from two female subjects.
    Action — Officer tried the phones while caller was present and got voicemail; left a message to contact the police department. Officer advised caller to seek a harassment order from the court. The following day one of the female subjects contacted police stating opposite allegations, stating female caller had been texting her son. Police suggested obtaining an order through the court.
11:02 p.m. Bennett Drive — Criminal Trespass — A female from a local business advised police of a male subject that kept going in and out of the business and was currently standing outside. Subject had been asked to leave the property and had refused to cooperate.
    Action — Police located a male subject from Iowa who had just disembarked from the bus. Subject stated he had entered the business for a sandwich then again for a soda. Subject also informed police he had no place to stay for the night and wants to get on the bus to head south again.
    Action — Officer advised subject not to be around the businesses this evening looking for a place to crash.
11:32 p.m. Collins Street — Disorderly Conduct — Female caller reporting noise from another apartment was disturbing her baby’s sleep.
    Action — Officer spoke with a female and did not hear any noise. Apparently there is a personality conflict with the new neighbor.

Saturday, September 13

9:56 a.m. High Street — Check Case — An employee from a local business reported receiving a check on a closed account.
    Action — Police were informed a female subject had pumped $103.95 in gas, then went into the store and had written a check for the amount. Account was closed. Female has extensive history of this type of action. Officer will check to see if DA’s office will allow for prosecution.
12:05 p.m. Lafayette Street — ATV — Female caller reported two young girls operating small dirt bikes up the street, caller was concerned for their safety.
    Action — Officer located the subjects at their home and spoke with their mother.
12:45 p.m. Elm Street — Animal Complaint — Caller advised of an estimated 18 wild cats in the area of Elm Street.
    Action — Animal Control Officer was contacted and informed of situation.
2 p.m. Lafayette Street — ATV Complaint — A male caller reported dirt bikes running up and down Lafayette Street all day long.
    Action — Warden Christie will try to located dirt bikes and will speak with operators.
6:46 p.m. Limestone Street — ATV Complaint — A male caller reported that his next door neighbor had tried to run over his kids with an ATV.
    Action — Officer spoke with all parties involved and issued a written warning for reckless operation of an ATV. Caller and his kids were also was spoken to in regards of throwing things.
7:28 p.m. York Street — Domestic — Police were advised of a couple having a disagreement on York Street. Female had contacted her mother to come pick her up and she was waiting for her to arrive.
    Action — Police spoke with female subject who said her mother was there at that time.
7:40 p.m. Bennett Drive — Disorderly Conduct — A male caller advised that while a group was trying to square dance at the recreation department, two juveniles kept disrupting things.
    Action — Officer checked the area but did not locate the subjects.
11:42 p.m.  Marshall Avenue — Suspicious Vehicle — Caller reported there was a suspicious vehicle driving around Hilltop School Elementary School.
    Action — Officer checked the area and unable to located anyone.

Sunday, September 14

3:17 a.m. Sweden Street — Motor Vehicle Complaint — A male caller advised of a male subject outside a local business who was very intoxicated in a vehicle.
    Action — Officer located vehicle and followed it to a residence.
10:31 a.m. Washburn Road — Motor Vehicle Theft — A female caller reported her vehicle had been stolen, stating she had last seen it at 11 p.m. and she had the only set of keys with her.
    Action — Police determined there is a loan on the vehicle but the payments are current.
11: 50 a.m. Armco Avenue — ATV Complaint — Caller reported an ATV with a loud or no exhaust just went down Armco Avenue headed toward York Street.
    Action : Police advised they were unable to handle this complaint at that time but would watch for subject ATV.
4 p.m. Grove Street — Theft — A male individual stopped an officer advising that he was missing $180 from his wallet (a one-hundred dollar bill and four twenties) from the seat of his vehicle while visiting a friend on Grove Street. He reported seeing a male subject getting out of his vehicle when he was coming out and discovered the money was missing. ( a male subject had given him the $180 to give to another male to purchase a prescription drug; who in turn took the money and ran).
    Action — Male subject denies the complaint, stating he did not know the other male. Statements were taken and subject was arrested on a warrant for FTA and summonsed for burglary/theft.
6:40  p.m. High Street — Theft — A caller from a local business reported having a female inside filling a bag with stuff. Caller said he spoke to the subject and she had just walked off.
    Action — Officer located subjected getting into a vehicle. Items taken from the business were recovered. Subject had 30 in cash that she said she needed for gas money.

Monday, September 15

11:40 a.m. High Street — Motor Vehicle Complaint — Caller reported she had sold a vehicle to a female who lived in Mars Hill who was supposed to return her plates and registration but never had done so. Caller said she had seen the vehicle next to a local business and she removed the rear plate but there was no front plate. Requested police to speak with female subject regarding the other license plate.
    Action — Officer went to the residence and was advised subject was not there. At 2 p.m. subject called police stating she only had one plate and the registration was sent to the state.
8:45 p.m. Plante Road — Harassment — Female came to police department to lodge a complaint against her ex who was harassing her; stating that during the past weekend he had been in the parking lot of a local business waiting for her and had been at her place of work. Subject had also been following and texting her. Female stated she didn’t want police to contact him and make him angry.
    Action — Police advised her to seek a protection order from the court.

Tuesday, September 16

2:45 a.m. Jacobs Avenue — Disorderly Conduct — Caller reported occupants in the apartment above her were drunk and wrestling out on the balcony, keeping her awake.
    Action — Officers didn’t hear anything upon arrival and spoke with subjects who stated they were just talking. Officers advised them of the complaint.
11:a.m. Access Highway — Animal Complaint — Caller reported seeing  dog being thrown out of a vehicle by the kennels  and that there was another dog in the vehicle.
    Action — Animal Control Officer suspected the second dog would be dropped off at another location and will check for strays in the area.
7:10 p.m. Bennett Drive — Juvenile Complaint — A female caller advised police of juveniles at a local business were jumping in front of vehicles, being unsafe.
    Action — Officers spoke to six teenagers at the location who said they had no idea what was going on as they had just arrived there.
