Per her wishes, her ashes will be placed at the VA cemetery in Caribou.sle – Geraldine (Berube) Dunn, 71, of Sheridan/Presque Isle, unexpectedly passed away September 22, 2008, at the Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor. She was born July 13, 1937, in Winterville. She was the daughter of Paul and Carie Berube.Image
    She attended Ashland High School where she played basketball and was a membr of the National Honor Society. She graduated salutatorian in 1955. Following graduation, she enlisted in the army and spent two years at Fort George G. Meade, Maryland. On July 12th, 1957, she was honorably discharged and returned to Aroostook County to marry Roger K. Dunn. She raised five children while enjoying a successful career in banking. She was treasurer of the VFW/Amvets in Ashland and enjoyed many happy hours playing cards at her sister-in-law’s Linda Berube’s house  with family and friends. Reading the paper, crosswords and Bingo were some more of her favorite pastimes, as well as being a devout fan of woman’s basketball.
    She is survived  by her children, Michelle Simard, Kim Brogna, David Dunn, Stephanie Legare, Roger Dunn and their father, Roger K. Dunn; grandchildren, Joshua Dunn, Zachary Dunn, Eva Dunn and Drew Dunn; siblings, Gloria Legassie, Percy Berube, Diane Plummer, Linda Pilsbury and many dear nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her husband Richard Lefrancois, she was predeceased by sisters, Pauline Ireland, Jeannette Dubay; and brothers, Milford Berube and Richard “Johnnie” Berube.
    A celebration of her life was held Saturday, September 27, 2008. Per her wishes, her ashes will be placed at the VA cemetery in Caribou. Those who wish may contribute in her memory to the American Heart Association or the VFW/Amvets.
