Edward John Knowlton, son of John and Isabel McNeal Knowlton, was killed in England during World War II. The Caribou Lister/Knowlton Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 9389 is named, in part in his honor. Knowlton was the brother of Frank Knowlton, Marie Knowlton Currie and Edith Knowlton Milton (all deceased).
