Grades 3&4 Girls Basketball
Emily Wheaton torched the nets for 12 of her game high 22 points in the first quarter to lead the Irish over the Terriers. Skyler McAtee added eight points, and the duo of Abigail L Shaw and Mackenzie Whitaker each chipped in with four points. Casey Lovely led the Terriers with four points. Morganne Bragdon and Nicole Sharp tallied two points apiece to round out the Terriers’ attack.
The Irish withstood a furious fourth quarter rally from the Black Bears to hold on for the 26-20 win. Skyler McAtee and Emily Wheaton both cracked double digits in the scoring column, finishing with 12 points each. Abigail L Shaw scored the other two Irish points. Gina El Nesr led the Black Bears with 10 points. Kayla Saucier and Tifini Lee poured in four points each, and Nadine El Nesr finished with two points.
Grades 3&4 Boys Basketball
Duke had seven players crack the scoring column in their 25-10 win over Arizona. Bradley Kinney finished with a game high eight points to pace the Duke offense. Chandler Paradis and Khasen Lowe popped in four points each, while Jared Kilcollins contributed three points. The trio of Drew Henderson, Gage Young, and Ryan Cochran finished with two points each. Nick Bartlett finished with six points to lead Arizona. Jack Beaulieu and Jacob O’Berry each netted two points.
North Carolina toppled Syracuse, 25-17, behind a 13 point game from Griffin Guerrette. Josiah Morse ended with six points, and Adam Paterson, Marcus Ouellette, and RJ Gross chipped in with two points each. Issac Devine was the high man for Syracuse with seven points. Grant Stewart contributed six points, and David Kofstad popped in four points.
Hunter Brown’s basket with three seconds left on the clock in the second overtime period propelled Michigan to the 12-10 victory over Duke. Brown and Patrick Cash each finished with four points to lead Michigan. Gavin Kelley and Jordan Bonville added two points each. Duke’s Bradley Kinney poured in a game high eight points, while Khasen Lowe rounded out the scoring with two points.
Syracuse used a balanced attack to down Arizona, 16-8. The trio of Grant Stewart, Issac Devine, and Wyatt Kennedy all tallied four points. Alex Tilley and David Kofstad scored two points apiece. Arizona was led by the hot shooting of Jacob O’Berry, who finished with six points. Rylee Albert chipped in with two points.
Michigan put five players in the scoring column en route to the 21-14 win over North Carolina. Hunter Brown scored six of his game high eight points in the third quarter to pace Michigan’s attack. Patrick Cash netted six points, and Gavin Kelley finished with four points. Connor McManus added two points, and Grant Bridges rounded out the attack with one point. Griffin Guerrette, Josiah Morse, and RJ Gross snapped the nets for four points each for North Carolina. Marcus Ouellette popped in a basket for two points.
Syracuse closed the game on a 7-2 run to pick up the thrilling 14-13 come from behind win against Duke. Grant Stewart scored six of his team high eight points in the fourth quarter for Syracuse. David Kofstad helped out with three points, and Issac Devine chipped in with two points. Tanner Lee’s one point rounded out the scoring for Syracuse. Bradley Kinney finished with a game high nine points for Duke. Drew Henderson scored the other four points for Duke.
Grades 5 & 6 Basketball Registration
Registration for the grades 5 and 6 basketball program will be held at the William V. Haskell Community Center. Registration has now begun for residents and non residents.
The program offers leagues for both boys and girls. Practices and games will be held weekdays after school at the community center. The registration fee is $15.

Kids’ Christmas Party
The Presque Isle Recreation & Parks Department is once again hosting its’ Kids’ Christmas Party for children in grades 1-5. The event will be on Friday, December 16 from 6:00-9:30 PM.
Parents can finish up some Christmas shopping while their kids enjoy an evening of fun. Activities will include: bingo, gym games, a Red Sox swap and pizza eating. Gifts don’t have to be Red Sox related; we just don’t say that nasty ‘Y’ word around here.
Pre-registration if required as there are limited spaces available. The fee is $5 per child, plus a $3-$5 Red Sox swap gift.

Archery
The Presque Isle Recreation and Parks Department is offering an archery program for youth and adults on Sundays from 6:00-8:30 pm. This is an informal, drop-in program with a $6 fee for each night of shooting. Participants may bring their own equipment, and there will be some available for those whom do not have equipment.
Adult and evening programs
The Presque Isle Recreation & Parks Department has announced that its adult and evening schedule of activities have begun.
Co-ed dodgeball will be held on Mondays from 7-9 pm, men’s basketball will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7-9 PM, and co-ed volleyball will be held on Wednesdays from 7-9 PM. Archery will be starting the first Sunday in December.
All activities will be held at the William V. Haskell Community Center. The fee is $1 per person per night. Participants should be at least 18 years of age and out of high school to participate.
Cheerleading for Grades 4-6
The Presque Isle Recreation and Parks Department has started taking registration for its cheerleading program. The program is available for grades 4-6.
The program will be held weekdays after school beginning in January. Participants will have practices and will cheer at our local league games. The cost is $15.
LeBlanc’s Family Karate
The Presque Isle Recreation and Parks Department now hosts LeBlanc’s Family Karate Saturday mornings. Classes are for ages 7 and up, and classes will be run from 9-11 am every Saturday. The classes are designed for beginners and intermediate students. The cost is $30 per month and family rates are available. There is also a one time fee of $25 per student. Laser Tag
The Presque Isle Recreation and Parks Department will be hosting Laser Tag on Friday, January 2nd, from 6-8 pm. This is open to ages 10 and up. The cost for the two hours is $10, and people can pay $5 for one hour of play. Please email adampirec@maine.rr.com with any questions or concerns.
Parent/Toddler Sign Language
The Presque Isle Recreation and Parks Department will be hosting a parent/toddler signing playgroup Saturdays from 11 am-12:30 pm. The group will meet the first Saturday of each month. This group is designed to teach children basic signs as a means of communication at an earlier age. The cost is $2 per child per session. The group is designed for children up to age 6, but all ages may come and join in the fun.
