Mr. and Mrs. Russell Howe of Prattsburg, N.Y. will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary, Dec. 26.
The former Mildred Ackley of Prattsburg and Russell Howe of Stockholm were married Dec. 26 1948 in Andover, N.B., by Rev. Frederick Guy.
Russell Howe retired as plant manager in Mercury Aircraft in Hammondsport and Mrs. Howe worked earlier at the old Westinghouse in Bath, prior to doing wallpapering in the area for many years with her sister.
Throughout their marriage the couple, along with family and friends, spent many summers in northern Maine where he grew up.
The couple have four children: Russell L. (Rusty) Howe of Prattsburg; Jacalyn and Patricia Howe of Brick, N.J., and Timothy and Pamela Howe of Westbrook.
Grandchildren include: Lorin and Chris Shin of Howell, N.J.; Christine Remmers of New York City, and Justin Howe and Jessica Howe also of Westbrook.
