The light that failed

To the editor:
Eighty years ago, I came into this world. I have survived the Depression, WWII, Korea and the Sick Sixties. I have witnessed the slaughter of over 200,000 of our precious young men in countless undeclared and unconstitutional wars. I have seen the National Guard serve illegally on foreign soil, while 10 million have invaded our land.
I have learned not to trust the “Weasels” in Congress, the “Wizard” in the White House, the “War Mongers” in the Pentagon, and the “Wolves” on Wall Street who have devoured half of my life’s savings!
Ninety percent of our citizens think the government is corrupt, 75 percent think the President is acting like a dictator, 70 percent of all the Christian churches are in decline, and 60 percent of marriages end in divorce.
America has chosen gold over God, greed over grain, machines over man and we have become morally bankrupt. We have a ‘mania’ over materialism, and a ‘love affair’ with consumerism, which has become the world’s ‘hate affair.’ The value system during the Depression and WWII has faith, family, friends, food and freedom. In the “New Age” it is credit cards, computers, cell phones, cars and clothes.
We have elected the first “Socialist” to the Presidency of the divided states of America! So long to Democracy! Farewell to Liberty! Socialism is all about government and has no place for God. The end result is that government eventually becomes a substitute savior!
During the ‘Satanic Sixties,’ they took ‘God’ out of our government and our society. We are no longer under the ‘Grace of God’ that helped us defeat two of the greatest evil empires in history at the same time in WWII. Satan has reinvented himself as the leader of our new enemy – the ‘terrorists’ who are like a whirlwind in the desert that can never be caught.
When my Dad attended a one-room school house 100 years ago, they celebrated the coming 20th Century to be the ‘Age of Light and Peace’! That ‘Light’ has failed, and we may very well be facing a great ‘Depression’ and an ‘Age of Darkness’!
