Each year the corporate offices of the National Job Corps Data Center in Limestone and Austin, TX., provide funds for summer outings, holiday events and free Thanksgiving turkey/hams. In return employees are encouraged to participate in community service projects.
The employees work for WYLE Labs/RS Information Systems LLC, which matches food donations to charitable organizations. This year, over half of the Maine Data Center employees donated their Thanksgiving turkeys to a Christmas Food Basket project. WYLE bought equal numbers of the birds. The turkeys are placed in cold storage until placed in the Christmas food baskets for area residents.
Kirk Tibbetts from the National Job Corps Data Center said, “We are a small part of a very big project. The major organizers are the Limestone Rotary Club, St. Louis Knights of Columbus and Limestone church organizations.”
