CASTLE HILL – On Sunday, Dec. 28, at approximately 5 p.m. Crown and Mapleton First Responders responded to a call of a man who’d fallen on an icy driveway at a residence on the Haystack Rd. in Castle Hill and required attention for a leg injury. Emergency personnel were advised that the driveway was extremely icy. First responders were first on the scene and made the victim, who’s identity was not available, as comfortable as possible as he awaited transport by ambulance to The Aroostook Medical Center in Presque Isle for treatment.
Snow melted by recent warmer daytime temperatures quickly turned to ice on driveways and walkways at nightfall. Officials advise using care when walking outside and to salt and/or sand to help prevent injuries.
