Payroll company goes paperless

PRESQUE ISLE – The beginning of 2009 will see the advent of a new paradigm for doing payroll in Aroostook County. Advantage Payroll Services will have the sole distinction of being able to provide a unique service to its clients, allowing them to do their payroll totally online, using only the amount paper they wish to use. This will save not only storage space, phone calls, and faxes, but tedious, unproductive paperwork time for office personnel, as well.     In the past, clients of APS, the oldest and largest payroll provider in Aroostook County, have been able to control payroll hours and employee changes in real time through the use of the Internet. Paper checks have been printed out and picked up or delivered, along with reports required by each individual business.
With the new Paperless Payroll, money will be deposited directly into the employee bank accounts. Electronic pay stubs will be delivered online. Using the employee self-service function of Instant Payroll, employees will be able to access their paycheck information and history themselves. Reports will also be available online. A full rolling year of reports can be viewed online at the convenience of the business owner and selected reports can be viewed or downloaded as necessary. And the paperless function can be activated or de-activated at any time. State-of-the-art security will continue to ensure the integrity and confidentiality of payroll data. Payroll processing will occur immediately and a complete statement will be available to preview online in real time. The only requirement will be that the business has a current Web browser and Internet access.
“Paperless payroll is the wave of the future,” said Ray Gauvin, president of Advantage Payroll Services. “We have consistently been on the cutting edge of technology for the past 25 years, thanks to our product and research department, and will continue to keep on top of ways we can help our clients run their businesses more easily and efficiently.”
