Take Off Pounds Sensibly Chapter 233 of Houlton met at the Aldergate building on High Street for its Friday, Jan. 9 meeting. It was the first meeting of the new year.
There were 17 ladies present and five of those were KOPS. Joyce Estey, leader, was present to welcome everyone. The official greeter was Elinor Harvey. The roll call was taken and Joanne Scott and Vicki Little gave reports.
Loser of the week was Donna Parent with Lois Downing as runner-up.
Joyce told us that we had reached walking to Joanne’s in Houlton from Florida and our mileage went over the approximate distance.
Denise also made a report on the new “Bead” contest and more beads were distributed to those who lost weight. Also distributed were rules for the contest.
The skinny dish was held over again. Vicki Little won the 50/50 drawing and Gerry McAfee took the mystery prize home.
After the meeting we drove to Oakfield to attend a dinner postponed from the Christmas season. It took place at the Smoki-Haulers Snowmobile clubhouse. We ate turkey dinner with mashed potatoes, gravy, dressing, squash and a variety of desserts.
Charlotte Marley conducted several games that we enjoyed. Lois Downing and Melva Folsom each read stories about the Christmas season. The hall was festive with the Christmas ornaments still in place.
The next meeting will be Friday, Jan. 16. If you need more information please call Charlotte Marley at 757-8483. The weigh-in is from 8-8:45 a.m. with the meeting starting at 9 and ending at 10 o’clock.
