There’s nothing better than putting on those favorite chillin’ clothes, grabbing a cup of tea, curling up in one’s favorite chair and reading. Last week students at Teague Park Elementary had an afternoon to do pretty much that same thing.

Superintendent Frank McElwain kept the attention of his young story listeners during the Chill Out and Read afternoon at Teague Park Elementary School.
As part of the popular Read Around Winter program, students could wear their favorite p.j.’s, lounge clothes and even slippers to school. During the Chill Out and Read afternoon, a variety of guests readers settled in the individual classrooms and read to the students. While students were listening to books with storylines dealing with winter events, they were also treated to the finishing touch of a perfect afternoon when they were served hot chocolate.
Caribou City Manager Steve Buck took time out from his municipal duties to Chill Out and Read at Teague Park. Buck was a guest reader to students who were enjoying a comfortable afternoon in the classroom.

Caribou Firefighter Scott Jackson stayed a little longer and assisted with art projects, after reading to students at Teague Park. Jackson was a guest reader participating in the Chill Out and Read afternoon.
