Grades 5 and 6 basketball
Kyle Nadeau dropped a game high 15 points in to help the Spurs pick up the 31-19 win over the Clippers.
Cody McGlinn added eight points. Olivia Hudson paced a balanced Clippers attack with seven points. Grayden Hemphill chipped in with four points. Kyle Rider scored six of his 10 points in the fourth quarter to help the Pistons hang on for the thrilling 24-22 decision against the Celtics.
Caleb Nadeau led the Pistons with a game high 12 points. Taylor Williams headed up six Celtic players in the scoring column with seven points.
Mitchell Kelley tallied six points.
C. Nadeau exploded for 16 points as the Pistons defeated the Clippers 34-19.
Rider also reached double digits, notching 12 points. Grayden Hemphill and Olivia Hudson each finished with five points for the Clippers.
Williams scored 13 of her game high 18 points in the second half as the Celtics knocked off the Spurs, 31-23.
Brian Fournier tallied six points. K. Nadeau scorched the nets to the tune of 14 points for the Spurs.
Grades 1-2 Little Wildcat basketball
The Presque Isle Recreation & Parks Department has begun registration for its Little Wildcat basketball program for both residents and non residents at the William V. Haskell Community Center. Schedules will be ready on Wednesday, Feb. 11.
The program is offered to boys and girls in first and second grades and will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays after school at the community center.
The registration fee is $18. The program begins the week of Feb. 23.
Father/Daughter Valentines Dance
The Presque Isle Recreation & Parks Department’s annual Father/Daughter Valentine’s Dance is schedule for Feb. 13 from 7-9 p.m. at the William V. Haskell Community Center.
The event is open to girls’ grades K-6 and their fathers.
Advance tickets go on sale beginning Jan. 27. The cost is $7 per couple.

‘Little All-Stars’ Sports Class
The Presque Isle Recreation & Parks is once again offering its sports class for boys and girls ages 4-5, Little All-Stars. Participants will be introduced to five different sports, including basketball, soccer, floor hockey, football and t-ball.
Through games and instruction, the focus will be on fun and the basic fundamentals of each sport.
The class is held Friday mornings from 10:30 to 11:15 at the recreation center. The program runs from Feb. 27 to March 27. Registration has begun for residents and non residents. There is an $18 registration fee.

Middle School only night
The Presque Isle Recreation & Parks Department is offering open gym hours on Friday evenings from 6:30-9 p.m. for middle school students.
Students in grades 6-8 are invited to come to the recreation center to participate in open gym and various activities.
Possible group trips, such as skiing and bowling, may be scheduled for future dates.
Youth open gym
The Presque Isle Recreation & Parks Department has begun its youth open gym. Hours will be from 1-3 p.m. for elementary youth and from 3-5 p.m. for middle & high school students. These hours will be offered regularly each Saturday and Sunday.
Available will be a pool table, table tennis, bumper pool, foosball, board games, a lounge with TV and a gymnasium for basketball and other activities.
Youth cross country skiing program
The Presque Isle Recreation and Parks Department will be teaming up with the Nordic Heritage Center to hold a youth cross country skiing program this winter.
The program will be for students grades 1-8. The program will run on Saturdays through March 28 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., with the exception of no meeting on Feb. 21.
The fee for the program is $10 for Presque Isle residents and non residents. Please call 764-2545 for more information and/or with any questions.
