Hatfield, Helen, February 12, 2009.  Arrangements by McCleister Funeral Home, Brantford, Ontario.  Interment to be held in the spring in the Woodstock Cemetery.
    Woodstock, NB & Ontario, Ca – Helen “Nellie” MacGregor Hatfield, died peacefully at St. Joseph’s Lifecare Centre on Feb 12; predeceased by her  husband Clayton 1987 and her son Carvell in 1999. Survived by her daughter-in-law, Mary, Houlton; and grandchildren, Mark and Heather. Also survived by son, Frank, Saint John, NB; daughter, Sheila Ellis (Richard) Brantford On.;  grandsons, Allen, (Fresia) Peter (Lubna), and Ross Tracey, daughter Valerie Ringrose (Les) Waterford On.; grandchildren, Heather, Shannon, Siobhan, Brendan, and Flynn.  Also  survived by great-grand-children, Ellen and Rachael Hatfield, Heidi, Ryan and Ross Wilcox, Adam, Shaan,  and Grace Tracey.
    Helen immigrated from Scotland at the age of 11, married and brought up her family in Woodstock NB, where she eventually opened the first hairdressing School in New Brunswick, as well as Modern Beauty Salons in Woodstock and Nackiwac, and finally one in Houlton, Maine, eventually retiring in her early 80’s. For many years she  worked with the NB Hairdressing Association, and was involved in travelling all over the world with the US Cosmetology Association. She was also very active with Woodstock Weavers for many years, and the Eastern Stars. Her  first love was the game of Bridge and was so proud when she received her Masters in l980.
    Funeral Services will be held in Woodstock, NB at a later date, with interment at the  Woodstock Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to the St. Joseph’s Lifecare Centre. Arrangements entrusted to McCleister Funeral Home, Brantford Ontario. McCleister 519-758-1567.
