University presents play “Oleanna”
PRESQUE ISLE – The University of Maine at Presque Isle and the University of Maine at Fort Kent will jointly present “Oleanna,” David Mamet’s two-act play about sexual harassment, on Wednesday and Thursday, Feb. 25 and 26, at 7 p.m. in Wieden Auditorium at UMPI. All proceeds benefit the local Battered Women’s Project. The play, directed by Joe Zubrick, associate professor of oral communications and theater at UMFK, focuses on a closed-door meeting between a college professor and a female student; and the question of whether an act of sexual harassment did or did not occur. Audience members will be left guessing right up until the very last line.
There will be an opportunity for members of the audience to have a conversation with the actors about the play following each performance. Tickets are available at the door for $7. For further information call 768.9452.
