Loretta “Maisi” Sirois-Marshall, 79, of Georgetown, Texas passed away on Sunday, February 22, 2009. A service celebrating Maisi’s life was held on Saturday, February 28, 2009 at 11 a.m. at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel, 393 North IH 35, Georgetown, Texas.
Maisi was born October 30, 1929, in Caribou, Maine to the late Vernard and Bertha Mae Guerette Adams. She is also preceded in death by the father of her children, Otis Robert Sirois, and her sisters, Beryl Scott and Gail Clark.
Maisi attended McMurry College in Abilene, where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree; she also studied at Hardin-Simmons University. Maisi was an accomplished prize winning artist, hosting many showings throughout her 50-year career. She was a member of the American Watercolors Society and the Texas Watercolors Society. Over the years she had many art students who became accomplished artists themselves. Maisi shared her love for art and life with her students and was regarded by all as a loving mentor and friend. Maisi's greatest joy was her family and she leaves her family and friends with a legacy of love and understanding. Maisi cherished her iris gardens and fostered a profound devotion to nature and God's creatures.
Maisi leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband, James E. “Jim” Marshall, her children, Greg Sirois and wife Mimi, Randy Sirois, Kay Sirois Zeigler and husband Randall, Mark Sirois and wife Debra; stepson, John D. Marshall; sister, Shirley Gaetz and husband Elmer; grandchildren, Justin Sirois and wife Jen, Tara Zeigler, Tiffany Sirois, Julien Sirois, and Allanah Sirois; great-grandchildren, Dylan Sirois and Ryan Sirois; along with many other loving family members and friends.
