WINNERS – The junior high Houlton Lady Shires were the winners of the Southern Aroostook Junior High School Invitational Basketball Tournament. In their first game of the three-day tournament, the Houlton girls overpowered Hodgdon, 33-9 and in the championship, they narrowly defeated Southern Aroostook, 39-38. CHAMPIONS – The junior high Katahdin Cougars won the Southern Aroostook Junior High School Invitational Basketball Tournament crown. In the final, the Cougars overpowered Hodgdon, 73-49, while in their first game of the tournament they defeated Houlton, 57-37. RUNNERS-UP – The Hodgdon junior high school basketball team were runners-up in the Southern Aroostook Junior High School Invitational Basketball Tournament held Feb. 9-11 in Dyer Brook.
