Enjoying a meal that someone else prepared is always enjoyable. Presque Isle area offers a variety of restaurants where you can enjoy a good meal at a reasonable price. Rosella’s at 18 North Street, Presque Isle is one of those restaurants. Since opening in August 2007, Debbie Nelson and Elizabeth have continually introduced new options on their menu. Elizabeth decided to stay in Presque Isle and became a partner in the business in January 2009.     Their menu includes daily specials, soups, salads, chowders, pizza, specialty pizza and much more. At Rosella’s you have a choice of 11 different sauces. Their red sauces include the regular Rosella sauce, a sweet sauce and the special high school sauce.  Some of the pizzas available have interesting names such as Margaurita and Way Beta Feta. Debbie also told me they have a black pastrami pizza, which she claims is more flavorful than regular pastrami. The latest invention is Caribbean Jerk pizza. The list of specialty pizzas certainly peaks my curiosity.
In addition to the main menu, Debbie has become known for her fabulous homemade desserts. Rosella’s has also recently started serving Cheesecake Factory cheesecakes. So even if you don’t want to have dinner, stopping in for dessert or picking some up to take home is an option!
The restaurant, open seven days a week, seats 40 and offers takeout as well. The hours of operation are Sunday through Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. The takeout and restaurant close at the same time. Being a locally owned and operated restaurant, one of the owners is almost always there. Debbie and Elizabeth are gracious hostesses and appreciate their clientele.
When you are looking for a different dining option, support a local business and sample some of the dishes available at Rosella’s or call for a takeout order at 764-6644.
