CENTERVILLE – Thomas David Wescott, 80, of Centerville died March 8, 2009, at the Essex Pavilion in Barnstable. He was the husband of Hortense E. (Rees) Wescott. Born in Ludlow, MA he was the son of the late James T. and Addiemay (Jordan) Wescott.
During his working years he was a supervisor in wood product Industry. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, where he received the National Defense Service Medal, and a Pistol Sharp Shooter Cal. 45 medal along with the Rifle Sharp Shooter M-1 Carbine. He was also an avid fisherman.
In addition to his wife he is also survived by one daughter, Michele Sarkisian of East Sandwich; his three grandchildren Joseph Sarkisian of Arizona, Alexandra and Rachael Sarkisian of Sandwich; also one brother, Lewis Wescott of New York; one sister Hazel Rock of Kentucky. He was predeceased by his siblings Esther Griggs, Alice Crochetiere, James Wescott and Walter Wescott; also many nieces and nephews.
His funeral was held Friday Mar. 13, 2009, at 12 noon at the Nickerson Bourne Funeral Home, 154 RT6A, Sandwich. Calling Hours were held prior to the service from 11 to 12. Interment with Military honors was held at 1:15 at the VA National Cemetery. Donations in his name can be made to a charity of one’s choice.
