Professor elected VP of MATA

PRESQUE ISLE — Barb Blackstone, director/assistant professor of the University of Maine at Presque Isle’s Athletic Training Program, was recently elected vice president of the Maine Athletic Trainers Association (MATA) at the organization’s annual meeting. She has been an active MATA member for a number of years, serving on the Licensure and Public Relations Committees, but felt it was “important for all regions of the state to be represented” on the directing board. Blackstone hopes to use her position to promote awareness of the role of athletic trainers and to encourage high schools and physically-active members of the community to use the services they can provide.
