On April 5, the Katahdin Club of Island Falls and the Yellow House Bed and Breakfast in Oakfield, hosted a birthday party luncheon for the long-time member of 70 years to honor Clara Hathaway on her 102nd birthday. Prior to the luncheon of a turkey dinner with all the fixings, (her favorite), Verna MacArthur gave the table grace. After luncheon, the lighting of her birthday cake was served and then Clara opened up all her cards and gifts.
The Katahdin Club presented a musical program to Clara with Verna MacArthur on piano and Laura Bomba singing many of the old favorite songs enjoyed by Clara.
Attending the celebration were Verna MacArthur, Laura Bomba, Leithea Porter, Doris Lynch, Lee Brewer, Mary Moore, Paige Coville, Gladys Ferguson, Nora Willigar, Edna Schmidt, Rachel Daniels and Gina Clark.
