To the editor:
America is like a deck of cards teetering on the edge of a canyon ready to fall in. Eight years of mismanagement by a Republican president on his watch; we are now some 50 something days into a new presidency, a Democratic president and the first African American to hold the office in the history of the United States, and a congress reclaimed by the Democratic Party.
They say that the road to hell is paved with good intentions. Why is there not enough bad ones. I have seen a flood of characters pretending to be experts on this economy, there is a quote that fits them “you should not throw stones at the glass, especially if you broke the glass”
Barrack is trying to rebuild a nation on a foundation of sand, but it won’t take when there is nothing to bind the cement. Barrack came into office of a corporation broken and mismanaged to its own destruction. A Republican, a man beyond question, said in a speech to the convention in 1860 – “a house divided shall not endure” the man was Abraham Lincoln who fought to save a nation.
In this economic crisis, we now face a new president who is attempting to bind the wounds and unite a country divided by fear. There are those however to still use fear to divide us. They call all the reforms and policies of our new president socialism. Well ladies and gentlemen of the House and the Senate, we went one way on a path and to be simple it did not work. We are like a boat upon the ocean against an October gail smashing upon the rocks, like any captain if a course leads to destruction change that course. If it be socialism then so be it, but allow this president to bind up the wounds of the nation and sure up the foundation of the house of the United States.
