East Grand celebrates ‘Spring Fling’

The East Grand after-school program recently held it first annual “Spring Fling.” Students took an afternoon off from the academic/homework help portion of the program to celebrate spring. The “Spring Fling” was offered to students in grades kindergarten through six. They had the chance to play games in which they received tickets they could turn in for a variety of prizes.

There was a bounce house, fun house and obstacle course that the students enjoyed jumping, climbing and sliding on.  Students could also take time from all the fun and excitement to enjoy an ice-cream sundae and cookies.

The Spring Fling was a huge success. The students worked hard all winter and this provided a chance to celebrate their successes and the coming of spring.
“I would like to thank Mr. Dobbins, superintendent of schools and also all the volunteers for making the afternoon a great success,” said Gail Malone, after-school coordinator.
Parents were invited to attend an informational meeting with Scott Richardson, special services director and Chapter I co- coordinator and with Ruthann Cowger, school guidance counselor.
