Little Feathers Head Start
Little Feathers Head Start is conducting a recruitment drive. They are accepting applications for the 2009-2010 school year.
Little Feathers Head Start was established to promote the importance of early childhood education, as well as the parent’s investment in the families’ continued educational/social experience while incorporating the Native American culture and beliefs. Parents are encouraged to be involved in their child’s education. They are encouraged to assist in making decisions about the nature of the program, volunteering in the classroom and working with their child at home.
They use the Creative Curriculum and incorporate all areas of development into the daily schedule. USDA approved nutritious breakfasts, lunches, and snacks are provided. Bus transportation to students who live within a 30-mile radius of the Center is also provided. School day begins at 8:30 a.m. and finishes at 2:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday. The Head Start is a federally funded, non-profit, state licensed program for twenty children ages three and four.
If you would like an application, please contact Robyn Holdsworth at 768-3218 to set up an appointment, or stop by the Center Monday through Friday from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. at 13 Northern Road in Presque Isle. Enrollment will be pending approval of the Head Start Policy Council and meeting criteria.
