Limestone Community School National Honor Society Chapter maybe best suited to be nicknamed the “little engine that could”. The group of eleven students and one advisor works to maintain a high profile in the school and community. Their service, this academic year, includes hosting the Northern Regional NHS Fall Convention with the help of about 25 student, staff, and community friends.

Members of the National Honor Society at Limestone include Parker Rossignol, Barry King, Dylan Morgan, Audrey Pictou, Sam Portera, Isaac Bickford, Stacy Bernier (president), Kellie Peers, Lisa Caldwell, Jasmine Cote, and NHS Advisor at Limestone, Alva King. NHS member Tyler Cote was absent from the photo due to scholastic obligations which took place in Caribou.

From the “red carpet” paparazzi to the dinner prepared by Chef Tom and the cafeteria staff, there were no details left unattended. “The Night at the Movies” seemed to be fun for all. Tutoring students in need continues to be a service staple of LCS NHS members and they have risen to the challenge as called upon this year. Promoting attendance to a dinner to benefit a fellow student was a task that all members accepted with great fervor. Providing assistance with set-up, service, and clean-up at this celebration, as well as, various other civic and school functions are also a service tasks upon which NHS membership can be depended. An annual fundraiser, selling flowers for Valentine’s Day, may be considered a service task in the years since the local florist has closed its doors. Many families were enabled to purchase a flower for their loved ones through an NHS member. As the school anticipates summer vacation, some NHS members will continue to serve the community by signing on to help at church camps and summer church schools. The service banner of Limestone NHS members waves proudly in our school and community.
