EASTON — The principal of Easton Junior Senior High School, Georgette Ireland, is pleased to announce the honor parts for the graduation ceremonies of the Class of 2009. The graduation ceremony will be held on Friday, June 5.
Valedictorian: Katrina Martin is the daughter of Vaughn and Laurie Martin. Katrina has participated in soccer, basketball, volleyball, cheerleading, Varsity Club, One-Act Play, Senior Play, Math Team and French Club. She has served as a class vice president and secretary, National Honor Society treasurer and Key Club treasurer. Katrina was awarded second place for her Junior Exhibition performance. Katrina has been an Eastonia staff member and editor of the 2009 yearbook and will travel to France with the French Club this June. She was the recipient of the 2009 Maine Principal’s Award. Katrina is a positive role model and an asset to the school and community. Katrina will attend the University of Maine in the fall where she will be a member of their civil engineering program.
Salutatorian: Bradley Trask is the son of Norman and Ellen Trask. Bradley has been active in soccer, basketball and volleyball. He is the newest member of the Easton 1,000-Point Club and has also been honored for scoring an Easton career record of 66 soccer goals. Bradley has been a member of All Aroostook Soccer and Basketball during three of his four years in high school. He has been a member of the Math Team and has been the president for Student Council, Varsity Club, and his class at various times. Bradley has also served as a vice president for the National Honor Society and Key Club. Bradley is an energetic and outgoing young man who demonstrates his leadership qualities effortlessly. Bradley will be attending the University of Maine at Presque Isle where he will study biology.
1st Honor Essayist: Samuel Bacon is the son of Randy and Paula Bacon. Samuel has been a key player in Easton basketball, soccer and volleyball. He has participated in the Senior Play and the One-Act Play competitions, Junior Exhibition, Math Team, Varsity Club and Key Club. Samuel has served his school community by acting as our National Honor Society chapter president, Student Council treasurer, class president, Key Club president and the 2008-2009 National Honor Society state president. Samuel’s dynamic personality and strong leadership have been an asset to the student body. Samuel’s fall plans include attending the University of Maine at Presque Isle for liberal studies. Samuel’s future plans also include attending the Coast Guard Academy.
2nd Honor Essayist: Kilynne Beaulieu is the daughter of Shawn and Jeffrey Beaulieu. Kilynne has participated in soccer and has been the captain of her team for three years. She has been a member of the cheerleading squad, Varsity Club, Eastonia staff and National Honor Society. Kilynne has served as a class secretary and sentinel for FFA. Kilynne was named Miss Teen Easton in 2008 and enjoys karate in her free time. Her hard work has paid off during her high school career and will aid her continued studies in pre-veterinary medicine at the University of Southern Indiana.
