Mars Hill – James Theriault, 56, passed away after a courageous battle with heart disease. He was born July 4, 1952, in Fort Kent.
All that knew him knows he had the biggest heart around, he would do all he could do to assure everyone was happy. He lived his life for his family, especially his grandchildren; not a day went by that he wasn't enjoying every minute he had with his grandkids.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Freda Douglass Theriault; two sons, Richard and wife Carmen of Cumberland and Eric and wife Karen of Mars Hill; one daughter Billie-Jo and husband Eric Fulton of Mars Hill; grandchildren, Zachary, Juslyn and Madison Theriault, Zachary and Joshua Chandler and Liberty and his "little buddy" Jamison Fulton; brothers and sisters, Geneva Pellitier and husband George of Millinocket, Richard and wife Betty, Herman and wife Claire and Clarence "Boon" and wife Brenda all of Fort Kent; Geraldine Castonguay and husband Dennis, Phyllis Ouellette and husband Carroll and his baby sister Sandra Carter and husband Kim all of Winslow; Bob and wife Charlene of St. Agatha and Lester and Dianna of Presque Isle. He is also survived by two god-children Rebecca Giguere and Amanda Ouellette and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides his family, he holds a special place in his heart for his dedicated and dependable employees at Al's Diner and his loyal and valued customers.
He's also survived by special friends, Carl and Barbara Sherwindt "mom and dad" and Walter and Pauline Dearborn. He was predeceased by many loved ones including his parents, Hampy and Ernestine; his father and mother-in-law, Paul and Frances Douglass; one brother, Raymond Theriault, one sister, Armande Bourgoine; two brother-in-laws, Alfred and Marvin Douglass and special nieces and nephews.
The visiting hours took place at the Old Fashion Revival Center in Blaine on Sunday, May 24 from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services were conducted at the church, 1 p.m. Monday, with the Rev. Mark Carter officiating. Interment was in the Marshall Cemetery in Westfield, followed by a gathering at the Shriners Building in Presque Isle, to celebrate the life of James.
