Houlton junior high baseball team finishes season strong with three wins

The Houlton junior high baseball team concluded its season strong, winning three games in the final week of the season, with victories over Hodgdon, Presque Isle White and Caribou. The Shires finished the season 13-4 overall and 8-1 in League play.
    Houlton topped Hodgdon 16-2, as Parker Sanderson threw a complete game two-hitter with eight strikeouts for the win. Hunter Hanning led the hitters, smacking a triple and two singles while driving in four runs.
Houlton banged out 16 hits while beating P.I. White 14-8. Dalton Cloney picked up the win pitching six strong innings. Hanning again led the hitters with a double and two singles. Sanderson and Nick Guiod each had a double and a single, while Jimmy Fitzpatrick,  Dan Swallow, Jon Tuttle and Cloney all singled twice.
Caribou was the last game of the season and the bats kept rolling, as the Shires had 19 hits in a 17-11 win. Hanning picked up the win off the mound, striking out 15 Vikings. Sanderson and Hanning each had three hits while Guiod, Fitzpatrick, Swallow, Tuttle and Brandon Ward each had two hits.
