Workshop on canning

    The University of Maine Cooperative Extension will offer “Home Canning for Today: What your Mother Never Taught You.”
    These classes will cover water bath and pressure canning, freezing and drying. Pre-registration is required and class size is limited. Cost for the workshop is $12.50 per person. Register by calling 800-287-1469.
    Location and times are as follows: Evening classes, July 1, 5-9 p.m., Houlton Regional Hospital, Community Education Center and daytime classes, July 2, 9 a.m.–1 p.m., Houlton Regional Hospital, Community Education Center.
