Several visitors to downtown Caribou recently have stopped in at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, attracted by the profuse amounts of bubbles drifting up Sweden Street and over the tops of the buildings, and by the large brightly colored boxes and gum drops littering the sidewalks around the building. The Chamber staff, including Annie Burgess of Caribou and Courtney Therrien of New Sweden, has transformed the office from one end to the other into a temporary Candy Land Chaos as everyone has pitched in on the float preparation for the upcoming Maine Potato Blossom Festival Parade in Fort Fairfield on July 18th. Complete with lei trees, and confetti launchers, the Caribou Cares About Kids Birthday Cake float should be a sight to behold! The Chamber is still looking for walkers as we take the cake, and the presents on the road to Presque Isle's parade on August 15th and Caribou’s own parade on Sept. 5th. All walkers will have complimentary Technicolor tie-dyed Caribou Cares About Kids birthday shirts, as well as rubber ducks and birthday favors to celebrate Caribou's 150th birthday!
