AUGUSTA – Speaker of the House Hannah Pingree has appointed Rep. Mike Willette, D-Presque Isle, to the National Conference of State Legislatures Standing Committee on Budgets and Revenue.
The NCSL is a bipartisan organization that serves legislators and staff in all 50 states. Its standing committees meet three times a year to allow legislators from different states to share expertise and benefit from other states’ experience.
“Many states experienced similar budget and revenue issues this year,” said Willette. “There’s a lot we can learn by collaborating with legislators from other states on this important policy area.”
Willette, a first-term legislator, also serves on the Legislature’s Joint Standing Committee on State and Local Government.
