A PHONE LINE was pulled down in Crouseville June 22 when a broken tree limb landed on it. Traffic was reduced to one lane starting around 7:30 a.m. until the line was repaired later in the day.

According to Washburn Police Chief Doug Conroy, pictured here directing traffic beneath the wire, the homeowner had left in his car just prior to the limb falling. No one was injured and only the phone line sustained damage. Conroy said it was just a matter of time before the heavy tree branch, which stretched out over the lawn and part of the driveway, broke under its own weight.
