    While some residents may have heard thunder Monday, others also heard the sound of nitroglycerin exploding to assist excavation at the site of the new 28-apartment complex for senior citizens in downtown Houlton. Blasting Foreman Justin Labourdais said he expected to use about 1,200 pounds of the chemical explosive over two days. The apartment complex, a development of Coastal Enterprises, Inc., is adjacent to the Temple Theater parking lot in Market Square.
