Houlton heroes need your nomination

HOULTON, Maine — Do you know an ordinary person who has done extraordinary things for Houlton youth? Perhaps it is a high school principal, a police officer, a teacher, a bank teller, a neighbor, or a coach who has gone above and beyond the call of duty to help young people succeed. Help us recognize their outstanding contributions by nominating them for the Superhero Award.
The heroes selected will be honored on Saturday, Aug. 22 during a community conversation event from 6–8 p.m. at Southside School in Houlton.
In addition, there will be games, prizes, food and a presentation from SAD 29 youth about the results of a recent survey they completed. The youth will share their perceptions of their community, substance abuse and their future.
