Houlton Police Log – July 7-Aug. 6, 2009

This is a summary of calls handled by the Houlton Police Department for the period of July 7 to August 6. July 30:
6:55 a.m. An area gas station reported a drive off of $20 worth of gas. Houlton police located the suspect and he was given an option, so he chose to return and pay for gas.
3:15 p.m. Houlton police responded to assist a 75-year-old male, who reported unknown people in his residence. Officers found no intruders and believed the caller may have been having medical issues. He was transported to the hospital for assistance.
8:26 p.m. The emergency room staff reported an intoxicated male had walked away from the hospital and was not yet cleared to leave. Houlton police located the subject and transported him back to the ER where he stayed until sober.

July 31:
12:14 p.m. Houlton police investigated a motor vehicle accident. A 61-year-old female suffered minor injuries when a vehicle backed out of a dooryard and struck the scooter she was driving. Houlton ambulance treated the victim at the scene. No charges were filed.
2:43 p.m. Houlton police responded to report of a domestic disturbance. Officers were able to resolve the issue between a mother and daughter over a cell phone bill.
7:40 p.m. Houlton police responded to a loud party and an ATV complaint on High Street. Officers spoke to all involved and the Houlton Police Department received no further calls.
8:09 p.m. A 34-year-old male reported being threatened by another male. Officers advised him of his options. A harassment warning will be issued to the suspect.
9:07 p.m. A Houlton resident turned in a purse he found on back of his truck after returning home from a trip to Bangor. It was determined the purse had been stolen and left on back of the truck. Bangor Police Department was advised and arrangements were made to get the purse back to the victim.
9:20 p.m. Houlton police responded to report of a male subject tampering with vehicles. While investigating this complaint the Houlton Police Department received a call reporting suspect had stolen a vehicle on a neighboring street. Officers located vehicle and with assistance of a deputy and they were able to get the vehicle stopped. They took the 41-year-old Bangor man into custody. He was charged with theft, operating under the influence (OUI), operating on a suspended license and also had several warrants from Bangor area. Vehicle was returned to owner.

August 1:
9:54 a.m. Officers arrested a 40-year-old Houlton man on outstanding warrants.
11:07 a.m. Officers arrested a 38-year-old Patten female on outstanding warrants.

August 2:
2:35 p.m. Officers arrested an 18-year-old Houlton man on outstanding warrants.
3:31 p.m. A resident reported a pickup had just spun up his lawn doing considerable damage. Officers are following up on several leads.
12:03 p.m. Officers responded to a domestic dispute between a mother and teenage daughter. Officers were able to resolve the issue and received no further calls.
9:08 p.m. A 78-year-old Houlton female reported she was stranded at the bus stop and did not have a way home. Houlton police assisted her in getting a ride home.

August 3:
6:54 p.m. A 22-year-old Bridgewater man was stopped by Houlton police for a traffic violation. He was summonsed for attaching false plates to his car as a result of the traffic stop.
7:36 p.m. The Houlton Police Department received a call of a neighbor dispute. Officers were able to resolve the matter. A 22-year-old man was issued a disorderly conduct warning for his behavior during the incident.

August 4:
6:45 a.m. Houlton police received a report of a distraught female sitting alongside a road. Officers arrived and located a 28-year-old female. She was intoxicated and upset because she kept falling off her bike. Officers attempted to give the female a ride back to her residence, but she became disorderly and refused to cooperate. She was arrested for disorderly conduct.
12:49 p.m. A 29-year-old Houlton man was arrested on outstanding warrants.
2:17 p.m. Houlton police assisted the Probation and Parole office by arresting a 27-year-old male for violating his probation.
2:53 p.m. Houlton police responded to a report of a male subject who appeared to be under the influence of narcotics. Officers located the 24-year-old male and found he had outstanding warrants. He was arrested and transported to jail.
6:36 p.m. The Houlton Police Department received several calls reporting two male subjects fighting outside a residence. Officers arrived and resolved the issue. Two Houlton men were summonsed for disorderly conduct as a result of the fight.
9:28 p.m. Houlton police responded to a report of a large fight involving multiple subjects. Officers arrived to find the fight had broken up and one party had left the scene. Officers spoke to all involved and the investigation continues. All parties were warned to stay away from each other.

August 5:
10:35 a.m. An area diner reported several people had left without paying for their meals. Officers located the subjects involved and issued criminal trespass warnings not to return to the diner. A 26-year-old man was also summonsed for the offense.

August 6:
12:06 a.m. Houlton police responded to a report of an assault. Officers arrived to find the parties involved had left. No further calls were received.
12:59 a.m. Houlton police responded to a disturbance. Several disorderly conduct warnings were issued and no further calls were received.
11:29 a.m. An area business reported a distraught ex-employee was in the building and was being disruptive. Officers arrived and escorted the subject out of the building. The 60-year-old woman was issued a criminal trespass warning not to return to the business.
4:12 p.m. Officers responded to a hit-and-run accident on North Street. Officers have a suspect and the investigation continues.

August 7:
12:54 a.m. Officers responded to a loud party complaint. Officers spoke to all involved and they moved inside for the night.
