Armitage Therapeutic Massage Center

Do you have pain? If so, Shirley Armitage and her husband, Francois Bisson may be able to help you.
Branching out to Houlton from Massachusetts they have opened the Armitage Therapeutic Massage AFJ Holistic Center at 51A North Street in Houlton. They specialize in patients with fibromyalgia or those who have nagging pain due to injuries from repetitive exertion on muscles.
The Armitage/Bisson partnership has been in business for 12 years in southern New England before coming to town three years ago. They hold office hours in Houlton on Monday, Tuesday and Saturdays.
Armitage said, “It is important for the public to know that massage and body work are not just so you can relax, but it can also aide in pain relief due to the repetitive strain on muscles.”
If you are a logger, a truck driver, a teacher or medical worker and you are constantly lifting, bending twisting or turning this may be a source for relief from that nagging pain. Massage has been noted to assist your body in healing.
Armitage is a graduate of Central Massachusetts School of Massage in Spencer. She continues her education with additional courses in the holistic area. For the past 11 years she has been practicing a variety of massage techniques to get the required results for each of her clients individual needs.
    Bisson specializes in reflexology.
Armitage is not only a practicing Massage Therapist, she is also an Iridologist and Herbalologist. She does ear candling, acupressure treatments and offers the detoxifying method of massage cupping and steam table treatments, plus the beneficial face-lift massage, which is a treatment for sagging, aging skin problems, without surgery.
Armitage will treat you to a luxurious half hour devoted to massaging your face. Then a honey lift mask is placed on your face with a soothing warm moist towel helping to relieve tension lines. A picture is taken before and after the session so you actually see the changes that have taken place.
Other programs offered at the Houlton office are: acupressure, myofascial release, heated stone massage, cupping massage, neuromuscular re-education, deep-tissue massage, pregnancy massage, Bowen holistic treatment, craniosacral therapy, ear candling, iridology, herbology and a steam table, herbs, supplements, and reflexology.
Bulk herbs, teas, rice packs, ear candles, goat milk soap and holistic supplements are available to purchase.
