    Heather Fagnant read Maureen Theriault’s name after pulling her winning raffle ticket from a basket of entries at Carol’s Country Yarns, Saturday to determine the lucky winner of a hand-knit afghan. Jo Holmes knit intricate patterns into an Irish knit afghan that was raffled off to benefit the Houlton Community Arts Center. So far, $455 came in from the raffle. As a result of the fund-raiser, a chair at the center will be designated with a plaque in recognition of Holmes’ contribution to the center. Theriault’s line was busy when the first call was made to notify her. Only minutes later, no one answered. But, she was reached and picked up her prize on Monday, saying she would certainly enjoy it.
