Cameron, Richard L., 83, Presque Isle, at a local hospital, September 4, 2009. A memorial service with Military honors will be held at the Maine V eteran’s Cemetery in Caribou on Wednesday, September 16, at 1 p.m. Arrangemens in the care of Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, Presque Isle.

 

ImagePresque Isle – Richard Leroy Cameron, 83, passed away September 4, 2009, at a local hospital. He was born in Houlton on Jan. 20, 1926, the son of Goods and Glennis (Stone) Cameron.Image
    Richard was a veteran of WWII. He served two and a half years in the United States Navy in the South Pacific. Richard graduated from Ricker College with a Bachelor’s Degree in History following his military service. He retired from the New England Telephone Company after 35 years of service. Richard loved to fish and hunt and for years, he tied his own fishing flies. He was a member of the Elks Club, Valley Investment Club, a long time member of National Rifleman’s Association and a member of Probus. He was also a member of the Fish & Game Club and Rod and Gun Club.
    Richard is survived by his son, Richard A. Cameron; Richard’s mother, Hazel, both of Presque Isle; and daughter, Diana Cameron-Bosch of Indiana; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren¸ nieces and nephews. His special friends were Theresa Thompson, Cindy Fletcher, Brian LaPointe, and Dave Chandler.
    Richard’s favorite activity was gathering with friends each morning for coffee at Shirley & Harold’s Restaurant.
    A memorial Service with Military honors will be held at the  Maine Veteran’s Cemetery  in Caribou on Wednesday, September 16 at 1 p.m. with Pastor Greg Moody officiating.
