Sen. Collins welcomes new summer intern from Limestone

    WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Sen. Susan Collins announced on Sept. 15 that Laura Hunter of Limestone has been awarded a summer internship in the Senator’s Aroostook state office. Hunter’s primary responsibility will be to assist staff with constituent relations.

    University  of Maine at Presque Isle student Laura Hunter of Limestone has recently been awarded a summer internship at the Aroostook state office of Senator Collins.

    “I am delighted to provide Maine students with an opportunity to become actively involved in the legislative process,” said Senator Collins. “During Laura’s internship she will be able to learn the inner workings of a congressional office through first-hand experience. Her record at the University of Maine at Presque Isle is exemplary and I am pleased to add her to my staff.”
    Ms. Hunter is the daughter of Lawrence and Gaby Hunter of Limestone. She will be graduating from the University of Maine at Presque Isle in the spring with a Bachelor’s degree in International Studies. She intends to continue her education at the graduate level next fall. Ms. Hunter notes that she is thrilled to have this opportunity and looks forward to assisting the residents of Maine.
