Doris A. “Dot” Getchell

GETCHELL, Doris A., 92, September 23, 2009.  Arrangements by Bowers Funeral Home, Houlton.  Interment was held in the New Limerick Cemetery.
    HOULTON – Doris A. "Dot" Getchell, 92, passed away Wednesday, September 23, in Houlton. She was born March 10, 1917, in New Limerick, the daughter of Joseph and Annie Brown.
    She cherished working many years in nursing at Madigan Memorial Hospital. She was a former member of the New Limerick Baptist Church, Houlton Grange and the Amity-Cary Grange.
    She is survived by her son, Robert Howe (Marilyn) of Milldgeville, GA; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; extended family, Leigh Cummings Sr. and his wife, Sylvia. She was predeceased by her first husband, John F. Howe of New Limerick; her later husband, Harold Getchell of Houlton; and one son, Clair Wright.
    Funeral services were held 3 p.m. Sunday, September 27, at Bowers Funeral Home, 10 Water Street, Houlton with the Rev. Wayne Robertson officiating. Interment was in the New Limerick Cemetery.
