The Maine Military Authority opened in July of 1997 to refurbishing military vehicles and is still providing the same high quality services today, in addition to also doing some state and community vehicle work. There were three main factors that drew the MMA to the Loring Commerce Centre, the excellent facilities, the excellent work force, and the equipment that was left in the facilities.
Officials at the Maine Military officials expect business to remain stable for several years and show some slow growth.
Currently there are 374 individuals working for MMA, of which the Loring facility is one of three; MMA headquarters is located in Augusta and the Component Shop is located in Caribou.
