The regular season is rapidly coming to a close for golfers from Presque Isle and Caribou. The League Championship is slated for Thursday, Oct. 1 at JATO in Lincoln, while the state team championships are Oct. 10 at Natanis in Vassalboro.
The following is a recap of recent regular season contests for the Vikings and Wildcats.
Presque Isle 163, Caribou 175 — At the par-36 Presque Isle Country Club Monday, the Wildcats (7-1) defeated Caribou (1-7).
The individual Presque Isle results were: Travis Dyer, 42; Evan Waddell, 40; Alex Tuttle, 40; Jordan Hallett, 44; Keenan Eaton, 41; Zac Campbell, 52; Adam Flynn, 49; and Alex Doody, 45.
The individual Caribou results were: Matt Kamm, 42; Reggie Rideout, 55; Ben Wyman (sophomore), 40; Caleb Chapman, 46; Lance Lamothe, 50; Ben Wyman (senior), 47; Derek Dufour, 62; and Corey Rideout, 55.
Presque Isle 164, Old Town 187 — At Presque Isle Sept. 23, Wildcat Travis Dyer was medalist on the day with his low round of 41. The individual Presque Isle (6-1) results were: Dyer, 41; Waddell, 37; Tuttle, 43; Eaton, 43; Hallett, 45; Campbell, 48; Flynn, 45; and Cody Merrill, 47.
The individual Old Town (4-4) results were: Zac Madden, 44; Cam Washburn, 52; Casey Estes, 48; Sam Peabody, 47; Matt Bowen, 48; Peter Wilcox, 51; Chris Kenney, 51; and Garrett Libbey, 51.
Presque Isle 161, Mattanawcook 164 — At Lincoln Sept. 22, the Wildcats (5-1) knocked off previously unbeaten Mattanawcook (7-1) in an exciting match. Presque Isle’s Dyer was medalist for the day with a 37.
The individual Wildcat results were: Dyer, 37; Waddell, 40; Tuttle, 41; Eaton, 43; Hallett, 45; Campbell, 47; Matt Freeman, 47; and Alex Doody, 47.
The individual Mattanawcook results were Lance Bernier, 40; Kasey Knights, 40; Nikk Libbey, 55; Mike Thibodeau, 42; Ivan Voisine, 42; Nick L’Italien, 48; and Drew Knights, 53.
Presque Isle 184, Fort Kent 193 — At Fort Kent Sept. 17, Dyer was once again the medalist for the day with a low round of 43.
The individual Presque Isle results were: Dyer, 43; Hallett, 48; Waddell, 51; Flynn, 55; Campbell, 51; Tuttle, 47; Freeman, 46; and Eaton, 44.
The individual Warrior (3-4) results were: Alex Chasse, 47; Garrett Albert, 45; Kale O’Leary, 49; Dustin Dubay, 52; and Jeremy Violette, 56.
