Children enrolled in the Aroostook County Action Program (ACAP) in Caribou recently had a chance to experience the wonders of fall, when they were guests Friday morning at the Goughan’s Farm on the Fort Fairfield Rd.
The wind was more than a bit gusty, the early morning temperature typical of fall weather in the County but the expectations of a hayride, seeing real live farm animals up close, coupled with the chance to select their very own pumpkin to take home and — being allowed to dine on icecream — before lunch, all seemed to makeup for having to be bundled up in winter jackets, heavy sweaters, hats, mittens and gloves.
The young visitors at the farm, were all excited by having seen ducks and sheep and were diving into generous servings of homemade ice cream all by 9:30 a.m.
