Recreation soccer

    The Caribou Parks and Recreation Department’s pee wee soccer program is wrapping, and summaries of a few of the recent contests are as follows:
    Tonight’s schedule is as follows: 6 p.m., Galaxy vs. Metrostars at Teague Park; 7 p.m., Rapids vs. Revolution at Teague Park; 6 p.m., Manchester United vs. Arsenal at Soucie Sports Complex; 7 p.m., Liverpool vs. Chelsea at Soucie Sports Complex.     The awards night will take place Oct. 7 at 7 p.m. at the Caribou Wellness and Recreation Center.
Premier League (grades 3-4)
    The Revolution took on the Fire, and the Revolution’s Evan Desmond scored two goals in the first quarter and Zoe Gerakaris added another in the quick start. Sebastian Marquis and Noah Frost played well with several saves during their tenures in goal. Kyra Thibeault, Zach Gerakaris and Jacob Soucy assisted with some strong play to support the defense.
    In the second half, Noah Frost, Jacob Soucy and Zach Gerakaris all had scoring opportunities with Zach, Zoe Gerakaris and Desmond each scoring one goal. Sebastian Marquis and Gabby Marquis played strong defense with Desmond playing well in goal. Desmond had multiple saves to keep the Fire team off the scoreboard in the third quarter.
    For the Fire, Nic Sleeper scored two goals. Cameron Doody turned in solid midfield play and Danielle Hanson played outstanding defense. Sydney Thompson made several excellent saves in goal for team Fire.
    In another game, the Metrostars’ only goal came from Ashley Matlock, with both Dawson Hebert and Josh Cummings making strong shots on goal. Hebert, Austin Findlen, Alec Cyr and Riley McNeal all performed well while goaltending. Noah Hixon and Sierra Ouellette worked hard defensively to keep the ball at the other end of the field.
    The Rapids played a great defensive game led by Cassidy Stevens and Bailey Griffeth. Aaron Johnston showed some fabulous hustle along with Seth Beidelman.
    The Galaxy’s third game of the season started out strong with Alex Ezzy in the goal. Ezzy played an outstanding game defensively for the Galaxy. The second quarter of action was offensively started by Kassie Krul. She received an assist from Dagan Savage that was nicely placed in the goal. Savage displayed his dribbling abilities by weaving in and out of the defense to put his goal into the net. In the second half, Kyle Boucher displayed great shielding techniques. Daniel Randolph and Alexis Rodriquez were a wall for the Galaxy’s back line. Both had strong kicks to help generate an opportunity for the offense. Matt Nadeau had a great break away attempt but fell just shy of scoring a goal. Our team is starting to put some of the fundamentals together. Coaches are pleased with the work and effort everyone has been offering. It was another great game for team Galaxy.
    The Rapids played a better game against the Galaxy this second time around. Seth Roy weaseled his way through the tough Galaxy defense to get open for a pass from Noah Heidorn. Heidorn also scored later in the game with a penalty kick attempt. Olivia and Emily Austin played their hearts out on defense and never gave up. Hunter Jackson played well all around.
    The Metrostars rallied from behind in the third quarter against the Fire, after Ashley Matlock had scored a goal in the first half. A high direct kick from Gabe Rand tied the game at 2-2, and with assists from Dawson Hebert, Ashley Matlock secured two more goals in the game for the Metrostars. Paige O’Bar, Alec Cyr and Riley McNeal were tough defenders, as most of the action remained on the opponent’s end of the field throughout the game.
    Camden Huck scored the lone goal for team Fire. Ghent Durepo and Brennan Poitras played solid defense. Ben Burgess and Tiahna Cyr ran up and down the field contributing both offensively and defensively.
World League (Grades 5-6)
    Donovan Savage scored off a Michael Hunter assist early in the game, and that was all that Arsenal could muster in a tough defensive match against Liverpool. Jillian Flynn played well in goal. Hannah McDonald and Jensen Jones showed great hustle in the midfield along with Taitem Lindsey and Eden Howell.
    Liverpool managed to put two in the net. One goal in the first half was from Devon Martin, assisted by Dylan LaMothe. In the second half, it was Mason Huck scoring unassisted. Defensively, the entire team worked hard and had many great defensive plays to hold Arsenal to the single goal.sleftov
    In the contest matching the Arsenal and Chelsea, Michael Hunter and Donovan Savage both scored goals off assists from each other for Arsenal. Jillian Flynn picked up the shutout in goal. Hannah McDonald and Rachel Soucy played good all around games while Danica Walker and Paul Hanson made some nice plays for the team. Tiatem Lindsey almost scored on a nice breakaway. It was a great team effort with lots of nice passes.
    Chelsea struggled offensively against Arsenal, but showed solid defense holding them to only two goals. In the first quarter Kerrigan Manter had some outstanding stops in goal. Cole Jackson and Austin Scott provided sound defense clearing the ball up to their offensive players. Gabe Massey also provided Chelsea with outstanding goal tending. Chelsea’s front line couldn’t get by Arsenal’s defense resulting in very few shots on goal. Kirsten Haney and Kaitlyn Nadeau showed outstanding hustle and tenacity on the field.
    In another match, Liverpool’s Brandon Tweed scored from an assist by Dylan LaMothe. Nick Frost put in a penalty shot late in the first half. Mason Huck found the back of the net in the second half. Ben Ezzy, Sarah Draper and Kara Madore played well together on defense.
    Manchester United’s Kyle Soetarte-Beaulier put the ball in the goal in the first half of play. The midfielders which included Destiny Berz and Charlie Bergin showed tremendous hustle. Zachery Whitten play excellent goal keeping.     
    Michael Hunter scored early in the contest as Arsenal took an early lead against Liverpool. Team defense kept Liverpool scoreless. Paul Hanson anchored the defense while Jillian Flynn had the shutout in goal. Danica Walker played very well offensively in the midfield. Rachel Soucy was solid on defense for Arsenal.
    Liverpool played very well letting up the lone goal. Great offensive attacks were led by Mason Huck, Ben Ezzy, and Brandon Tweed. Ethan Plourde had some great saves in goal. Tre Caudill and Laura Doucette both showed great hustle on both ends of the field.
    Chelsea and Manchester United played a great back and forth game. Chelsea scorers were Austin Scott, Tyler Dombrowski and Gabe Massey with two goals. Lindsey Rowland Riley McDuffie and Krysta Marcoux played excellent defense for team Chelsea.
    Manchester United would not back down from Chelsea. Kyle Soetarte Beaulier scored a goal and Josiah Krul had a “hat trick” scoring his third goal as time ran out.
    In other action, Tre Caudill put in the only goal of the night for Liverpool during a fast break late in the second half of the game. Ethan Ploude helped with the shutout in goal while it was an entire team effort defensively.
    Manchester United had some great offensive goal scoring opportunities, but just could not get the ball across the goal line. Madison Doucette, Charlie Bergin and Zachary Whitten all played well in the game. Richard Newland had a nice breakaway, breaking through three Liverpool players, but was unable to finish the goal.
    To wrap up the busy slate, once again Chelsea had great saves in goal by both Tyler Dombroski and Kerrigan Manter. Cole Jackson provided outstanding defense in the fourth quarter. Lindsay Rowland provided some outstanding passes on offense to Matt Caron and Connor Plourde. Dombroski was the only Chelsea player to score in this match.
    Michael Hunter scored two goals and had an assist for Donovan Savage. Savage and Jillian Flynn made several nice saves in goal for Arsenal. Danica Walker and Jenson Jones played well up front. Hunter Milliard, Paul Hanson and Nick Pelletier kept Chelsea from generating many scoring opportunities. The entire team demonstrated nice passing and great hustle the entire game.
