LIMESTONE — Youths from Dani’s Watch Me Grow Daycare in Limestone recently had a day on the farm visiting the Crop Circle Corn Maze off of the Van Buren Road in Limestone. While owner Danielle Ellis is licensed to care for children between six weeks to 12 years of age, youths participating in the field trip were between six and two years old.

According to owner of Dani’s Watch me Grow Daycare, Danielle Ellis, youths Danielle Jean, Aiden Fox, Grace Jean, Addison Fox and Seth Roy were amazed at all the corn towering over them. “They thought they were in a big tunnel,” Ellis said.
This was the first time the day care has offered a field trip since it opened in Aug. of 2007, but the event was worthwhile for the crew. The children were able to run around a get some fresh air in the maze; the group spent about two hours in the maze and, returning to the day care, they were all played out and took it easy for about three and a half hours.
“We came upon a scarecrow inside the maze sitting on a lawn chair and the kids thought he was lost,” Ellis described. “They pulled on his arm and said ‘come on, we’ll show you the way out.”
After ‘getting lost’ in the tall corn, they enjoyed a nice picnic lunch right outside the maze; each youth left the farm with a piece of candy and a pumpkin.
Ellis was assisted by chaperones Mary Godfrey, Sierra Burress and Omer Jean.
