Fire and Ice is the explosive definition for this year’s Health Services Foundation diamond ring raffle.
“’Wow’ is the word being used in reaction to this change of pace diamond ring,” said Elizabeth Dulin, Foundation executive director. “This year, the decision was made to showcase a magnificent 14 kt. white gold band with 55 total diamonds consisting of 50 round and 5 princess cuts, weighing a spectacular 2.79 carats and valued at $8,500. It’s fire against the icy coolness of white gold.”
Only 850 tickets at $20 each are available for purchase. The drawing will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 13, 2010. Proceeds from the raffle benefit the Foundation’s support for area healthcare.
Many beautiful diamonds have been presented by the Foundation over the years and every year is a real challenge on deciding what to offer next. This year has certainly been no exception.
“This stunning ring will bedazzle anyone and what a statement it makes, fiery, icy, bold and beautiful,” Dulin said. “Through the years, our rings have highlighted different center stones and perhaps some accent diamonds, however, we felt the time was right to offer a whole new look this year’s presentation.
“Symbolism plays a part in all our lives by representing a concept through symbols or underlying meaning of objects or qualities, like lucky four-leaf clovers, and so much more. We researched the meaning of the gems we are offering this year, and below are some of the very best definitions,” Dulin added.
Second prize is a 14kt. White gold pearl and diamond earrings and third prize is a sterling silver bracelet with Maine Tourmaline.
“Over the years, we have had the pleasure of several different locations hosting this event and this year, we team up and bring our drawing to “The Horn of Plenty,” Dulin said.
The drawing will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 13, 2010 due to the fact that Valentine’s Day falls on Sunday this year.
