Caribou Middle School Students of the Month

   CARIBOU, Maine — Staff members at the Caribou Middle School recently announced their selections for Student of the Month for September.

Jill  Courchene was named Student of the Month for September by her teachers, Mrs. Cindy Levasseur and Mrs. Nella Ouellette. A member of the grade five “Brainiacs,” team, her teachers said, “Jill is very conscientious and has excellent work ethics. An honor roll student, she is a kind person and a pleasure to be with.”
Courchene is also active in many extracurricular activities including percussion lessons, the CMS Band and ninjitsu.

Kaitlyn Nadeau, a member of the fifth grade, “The Explorers,” team at CMS, was selected as September Student of the Month by her teachers Mrs. Deede Duncan and Mrs. Jola Hebert.
The CMS teachers said, “Kaitlyn shows an enthusiasm for her education that sets her work and attitude at the highest standard. She is an excellent role model for her peers and works hard every day to be the best she can be.” Nadeau is a member of the fifth grade band and also plays Little League.

Hailey White was selected as Student of the Month for September by her sixth grade, “Six-ceeders,’ team teachers, Mrs. Cathy Bouchard, Mrs. Ruth Dionne and Mr. John Pelletier.
The CMS teachers said, “Hailey is an outstanding student that achieves highest honors. She is friendly to teachers as well as her peers and is helpful to all of her classmates. Hailey is well respected and she is a pleasure to have in class.” Her teachers also stated they enjoy the fifth-grader’s sense of humor in the classroom. White’s other interest outside of school include horses and Rec basketball.

Donovan Savage, a member of the “Super-sixes,” team at CMS has been selected as September Student of the Month by teachers Mrs. Jen Quinlan and Ms. Sarah LaJoie.
The sixth-grader’s teachers said, “Donovan is a highly motivated students who has great ideas and shares them while engaged in class discussions. An outstanding school citizen, he is very respectful to both teachers and classmates. His positive attitude makes him a very special member of our team.”
In addition to his high academic achievement in the classroom, Donovan is also an active participant in a variety of activities, including being a member of the CMS Cross Country team.

Morgan Outing, a seventh-grader at the CMS was named to the honor of Student of the Month for September by her teachers, Mrs. Kim Barnes, Mrs. Mary Curtis, Mr. Steve Perreault, Mrs. Holly Rhinebolt and Ms. Shelly Richardson.
“Morgan’s love of learning and her respect for all learners, makes her a joy to have in class,” the CMS teachers stated. “She is always prepared for class, participates in all class activities with enthusiasm and she makes outstanding contributions to class discussions. Morgan is pleasant and kind to everyone she meets — students and teachers alike. We look forward to seeing her smile light up the classroom,” the teachers continued.
In addition to her academic pursuits, Outing participates in athletics at CMS, playing a starting back on the soccer team and is considered a “terrific teammate,” by her coach. The seventh grade student is also an accomplished musician, performing with the CMS orchestra.

Gavin Levesque a member of the seventh grade at Caribou Middle School was selected as Student of the Month for September by staff members Mrs. Kim Barnes, Mrs. Mary Curtis, Mr. Steve Perreault, Mrs. Holly Rhinebolt and Ms. Shelly Richarson.
“Gavin is an extremely bright student who works hard every day,” said his teachers. “He is a model example for his peers on a daily basis and gives great support to his classmates. He is a pleasure to have in class and is enjoyed by all of his teachers,” they added.

Sara Hamlin, a member of the eighth grade class at CMS was chosen as September Student of the Month by her teachers Mrs. Jessica Dow, Mrs. Shannon Sleeper, Mr. Troy Barnes, Mrs. Ralph Fantasia and Mrs. Jen Rand.
The grade eight teachers said, “Sara enjoys writing poems, singing, skiing, and hanging out with friends. She is a member of the Developmental Assets Team, the tennis team and CMS chorus. She is a pleasure to have in class and is always willing to help a student or her teachers.”

Tyler Strid was selected Student of the Month for September by his eighth grade teachers Mrs. Jessica Dow, Mrs. Shannon Sleeper, Mr. Roy Barnes, Mr. Ralph Fantasia and Mrs. Jen Rand.
The Caribou Middle School teachers stated, “Tyler is a hard-working student, who is also very active in CMS athletics. During his time at CMS, he has been a member of the soccer, basketball, skiing, cross-country and track teams.” Tyler’s coaches and teachers say they admire his, ‘give-it-all-you-can’ effort. The grade eight student also takes part in many bike and road races outside of CMS.
