To the editor:
I read in the Oct. 28 Star-Herald that October is Pet Adoption Month. I encourage anyone who can offer a pet a loving home to rescue one from the shelter. But, pet owners are rarely reminded that the state of Maine has a leash law and it needs to be enforced, and practiced by pet owners. This will ensure the safety of the pet and of others.
