Weeks, Frances, 92, Masardis, in Presque Isle, November 16, 2009. Friends and family are invited for a time of visitation at 10 a.m. followed by funeral services at 11 a.m. on Wed., Decemeber 2, 2009, at the Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, Presque Isle. Interment will take place in the Masardis Cemetery. Arrangements in the care of Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, Presque Isle.

 

    MASARDIS – Frances (Lavaway) Weeks, 92, passed away at the Presque Isle Rehab and Nursing Center November 16, 2009, following a period of declining health. She was born in Presque Isle, July 17, 1917, the daughter of John and Jenny (Byers) Lavaway.
    She graduated from Presque Isle High School, Class of 1935, and married Rodney L. Weeks on June 10, 1939 in Masardis. She resided in Masardis for 68 years where she was active in the Masardis Congregational Church and Women’s Extension Service.
    She is survived by two sons and their wives: John and Ella Weeks of Masardis, Charles and Linda Weeks of Lake Saint Louis, Missouri and a daughter, Jane Dunn and her husband Rohnie of Gardiner; grandchildren: Todd, Susan, Joel, Jenny, Kimberly, Kevin, Michael, Rodney, and Judith; 13 great-grandchildren, including Ava Cameron, a “special light of her life”; a brother-in-law, Burns Weeks and his wife Irma of Presque Isle; several nieces and nephews. She will be sadly missed by her very dear friend since kindergarten, Polly Belyea of Presque Isle. Besides her parents, Frances was predeceased by her husband of 68 years, Rodney Weeks in December 2007, her brother and sister-in-law Robert and Hilda Lavaway. Frances’ family wishes to express their most sincere gratitude to the staff of the Presque Isle Rehab and Nursing Center for their loving and professional care provided during her stay with them.

December 2, 2009, at the Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle with Rev. Donald Morton Jr. officiating. Interment will take place in the Masardis Cemetery.
