Youth participate, advance in Hoop Shoot

    On Dec.13, the Houlton Lodge of Elks held its annual Hoop Shoot contest for boys and girls, ages 8 to 13.
    Thirty youth participated, and the winners and runners-ups are as follows:
     Girls 8-9 Division: Champion, Kolleen Bouchard and runner up, Abbie Worthley; Girls 10-11 Division: Champion, Katie Condon and runner up, Aspen Flewelling and Girls 12-13 Division: Champion, Mariah Boyd and runner up, Madelene Anderson.
     Boys 8-9 Division: Champion, Nicholas Perfitt and runner up, Nicholas Brewer;  Boys 10-11 Division, Champion, Connor Grant and runner up, Zachary Quint; and Boys 12-13 Division: Champion, Kyle Bouchard and runner up, Garrett Putnam.
    The winners will compete at the state district contest in January.
