Adult Ed courses

    HOULTON — The following courses are being offered by the SAD 29/70 Adult Education department. For more information or to register for these classes, call 521-3100 ext. 5. Intro to Excel Class
    Intro to Microsoft Excel will be offered at the Houlton Higher Education Center on Tuesday, March 16 and 23, from 6–8:30 p.m. This course is for beginning Excel users who want to make the program work more productively for them. The instructor is Gerald Morey, and the class fee is $20.
Masonry Training
    Student interviews are underway for the Brickmason/Blockmason Level I, 144-hour training scheduled to start on Monday, March 15 at the Region Two Vocational Center in Houlton. This class will meet on Mondays and Thursdays, 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., until mid-June. The instructor is Don Pond and the course fee is $900. The fee includes a set of masonry tools. Application for tuition assistance may be made through the Maine Career Centers.
How to Shoot Better Videos 101
    The “Idea Factory” and Houlton/Hodgdon Adult Education are offering a free introductory class on Monday, March 15 from 6-7 p.m. at the Houlton High School.  Mike Fawcett (“The Story of Houlton”) will help you make your home videos look and sound better. For those interested, follow-up classes will be offered on March 22 and 29.
CPR & First Aid at Hodgdon Fire
    Houlton/Hodgdon Adult Education and Region Two Adult Vocational Education announce a CPR course and a First Aid course at the Hodgdon Fire Department. The CPR class will meet on Tuesday, March 23 from 5:30–9 p.m. The First Aid class will meet on Monday, March 29 from 5:30–9 p.m.  Students may register for one or for both classes. Paul Stewart is the instructor, and the fee for each course is $25.
